Youth Ministry Note

Dear Youth Workers,

Unfortunately, Someone Else recently left our volunteer youth staff for the Fayetteville District. For the past several years, people have relied on Someone Else to do much of the volunteer work in our youth ministry. However, because of Someone Else’s recent departure, the excuse “I can’t do that, but Someone Else will” is no longer valid. While we will miss Someone Else’s dedication to our ministry, we are excited about the openings on our volunteer team that you now have the opportunity to fill.

Our ministry to middle school and high school students would be non-existent without the presence and dedication of caring adult volunteers like you. We need YOU!!!

What do you do as a volunteer?  First, you keep the youth in your congregation plugged into Jesus Christ and help them be an active part of your own congregation.  Jesus arrived on the earth alone as a little baby.  However, once his ministry kicked in gear, he had many people in ministry with him!  We follow that model with youth ministry in the Fayetteville District.  We have the 3 or the 12 in our own youth group.  We do a lot of fun stuff and good work in the name of the Lord with our close disciples.  However, it is fun to gather as the 70 or the 5000 and praise and worship God together with churches big and small.  We have rallies with games and food and worship.  We host lock-ins again with games and food and worship.  We celebrate Jesus as our savior and king together.  We hope to do mission projects together.  Do you get that the underlying themes are “together” and “worship”?

For general information on how to get involved in our ministry, please contact Rev, Mary Frances McClure, District Youth Coordinator, at mfmcclure@nccumc.org or at 910-308-9883 to get involved in youth ministry in your district!  Mary Frances is available as a resource in person or by phone!  Two heads are better than one in youth ministry!  Give a shout out whenever you have any great ideas or need advice!  Bookmark the youth page to keep informed of upcoming activities and service opportunities!
